Summary (Goodreads):
For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.

Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.

But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.

As Cécile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer’s daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever.

Cécile forced to marry a troll prince in order to break a curse.
When Cécile and Tristan get married they had to share a emotional bond with each other. It was definitely build slowly, but it was wonderful done.
Thank you SO much Danielle for not making a love triangle ;). It could easily have been done. So I sincerely hope there won't come one later on tho ;).

Cécile (favorite heroine) - is kind heart, talented, clever, pretty, awesome, bad-ass and most of all she like to sing! She was a wonderful character to read! I like the fact that she was normal and didn't hide away like a scary cat BUT took control over the situation :D!
Tristan he's mysterious at first and cold.. hmm.. Nope there's to many emotion going on for me to describe him BUT I can say for sure that you can't help but love him!
I want a Marc in my daily life he's the best friend you can get! :D

The gold-filled city of Trollus, was fantastic written and you're going to love the trolles. They will make you laugh till you can't laugh anymore!

This is Danielle first debut AND can I just say how fantastic, incredible, amazing author she is!!  *high five*. Danielle wrote Trollus just beautiful, you could picture and feel the magic of Trollus. Everything fit perfect together and I can't wait to read book 2!

The Songbird's Overture #0.5:
It takes place four years prior to the events of Stolen Songbird, and it will give a taste of what Cécile's life was like before the trolls.

  1. Looooooove this <3333 Stolen Songbird is THE BEST BOOK EVER. I asked Danielle if there was going to be a love triangle and she said nope. That there were a lot of things going on that a love triangle would be highly unnecessary. I hope that's true ;)
