Unpopular Opinions Book Tag - created by TheBookArcher

I was tagged by Becky from Book Nerd Addict - book blogger to do this "Unpopular Opinions Book Tag"
(Here's the link for the blog: http://www.booknerdaddict.com/)

1) A popular Book or Series you didn’t like:

I actually have a few.
I didn’t really enjoy the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. But I did like the first one tho but the two last ones I did not like AT ALL!!

The fault in our stars it got toooo much over-hyped for my taste.

Rebel Belle - all the characters annoyed me.

Probably some others too I can't remember xD.

2) A popular book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love.

EASY! … Yeah you guessed it!... It is of course non other than … BAMBAM…Twilight!

Yup I said it. I’m on the side who liked the first and last twilight books and hated New moon since I was team Edward and couldn’t stand reading about Jacob.. Gosh it pained me! Boy I was relieved when Edward came back in the picture!

3) A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with OR an OTP that you don’t like.

That’s hard man…. Uhm… I don't know… I don't read that many love triangle books because... Well I hate them!
Hmm… I just read Throne of glass and there’s a love triangle and I got really mad with main character!.. So yeah… I can’t tell who it is between with because that would ruin the ending for book one of the Throne of glass series for people who haven’t read the books.

4) A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.

Science Fiction.
Historical
5) A popular or beloved character that you do not like.

Tom Riddle a.k.a Voldemort:

I had a HUGE crush on Christian Coulson back in 2002.. you know what... I still do every time I see him in Chamber of secrets.

Yeah here is our hated Voldemort ;).

Morgana:

Love Katie Mcgrath in Merlin TV series - I wanted to kill her so many time in Merlin XD. She really played the role like a pro ;D - she's awesome!

6) A popular author that you can’t seem to get into.

John Green
Suzanne Collins (Only going to watch the movies)

7) A popular book trope that you are tired of seeing.

Cancer...

8) A popular series that you have no interest in reading.

The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten:

Maze runner:

Hunger games:

Outlander:

Game of thrones:

And some more...

9) The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie” but what movie or T.V show adaptation do you prefer more than the book.

The Duff!! OMGosh That movie!!! IT WAS SO SO SO SO GOOD!!! One of my favorite movies this year!!
                                                      The Movie              VS            The Book

Another surprise was actually The fault in our stars. I did not expect that but I gotta say the movie was FAR better than the book - the movie is not on my favorite list but I have to give it credit for being better than the book.

Thank you Becky for tagging me to do this! It was fun! ;D

When Savannah wakes up after two months in the hospital, she sees a whole lot more than expected, things that could put those close to her at risk.

Instead they believe in the power of sisterhood, of romance, and rebuilding their lives after their father's mysterious disappearance nine years earlier. Starting anew in the small town of Iris Harbor, they see potential in all.

But Savannah's awakening after having surgery on a life-threatening aneurysm brings a unique ability to the Delcarta sisters–together, each can predict the future with one of the five senses. And Savannah has the gift of sight.

A serial arsonist has been terrorizing the tight-knit community, and the Delcarta sisters have their suspicions on who could be to blame, including a boy who starts as an adversary to Savannah and then very quickly becomes her whole world. Investigating these crimes, trying to stop them before the next flame is sparked will call upon Savannah to use her newfound abilities with the help of her sisters, and will put each of their lives in danger.

This stunning new paranormal series blends the sweetest of romances with breathless suspense, and introduces five young women who share a haunted past, an extraordinary gift, and an uncertain future.

Book review:

I received this from NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review

Okay so to start off; I'm debating with myself if I should give this a 3.5 or 4 stars?

Sight by Juliet Madison is a quick and fast okay read.

This story is about 5 sisters. Twins and triplets Talia, Tamara, Serena, Sasha and the main character, Savannah. The book starts of in the hospital where Savannah is in coma. She wakes up with a bubble feeling and discovers she has the special ability of seeing things others can't. She's not alone, her 4 other sisters have also been given a special ability each. All five senses.

The storyline continues 3 months later at Iris Harbor with their single mother and missing father who disappeared 9 years ago.

The Delcarta sisters can experience events as if they were there like in the future and together these five sisters become their own private detective, but their very gifts give them vision of something bad that only the Delta Girls can prevent.

At the beach near their new home, Savannah gets a déjà vu when a vision she had at the hospital becomes real. For comfort, she tells her sisters about it. They look at each other and slowly the realization hit them. The sisters discover that each of them has experienced the same memory but through a different sense. While Savannah experiences it by sight her triplet sisters have felt it by sound and smell and the older twins have sensed it through taste and touch.
After that event the journey begins for them all.

One specific character I really enjoyed was Riley. He was mysterious, absolutely gorgeous! The chemistry between him and Savannah hit the first time they met like love at first sight. They didn't deny their feelings for one another which was a bit 'meh'.

It was the first book I read from Juliet Madison and she did a great job even though it was very predictable and it annoyed me a bit that the five sisters didn't actually think about the clues they got and remembered back to previous clues or even try to put the puzzle pieces together. But putting that aside, the author really did have an great idea and she balanced the story well. Even though I have mix feelings about this book I would definitely root for a sequel. I won't spoil you but there was something at the end maybe 80 pages before the end I really need an answer to and something I wanted to have read we didn't get to see which I am very curious about! ;D
So overall, a great job.

4/5 Stars <3!

Update!!:
There's coming a second one "Sound" in October 13th!! - OMG I SOOO EXCITED!  :D.

The Heartbreakers

Title: The Heartbrealers
Author: Ali Novak
Genre: YA,
Contemporary, Fiction, Romance, Music

Published: August 4th 2015
Page count: 336
Format: Kindle

Summary (Goodreads):

"When I met Oliver Perry, I had no clue he was the lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And he had no idea that I was the only girl in the world who hated his music."

Stella will do anything for her sick sister, Cara—even stand in line for an autographed Heartbreakers CD...for four hours. She's totally winning best birthday gift this year. At least she met a cute boy with soft brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes while getting her caffeine fix. Too bad she'll never see him again.
Except, Stella's life has suddenly turned into a cheesy love song. Because Starbucks Boy is Oliver Perry – lead singer for the Heartbreakers. And even after she calls his music crap, Oliver still gives Stella his phone number. And whispers quotes from her favorite Disney movie in her ear. OMG, what is her life?

But how can Stella even think about being with Oliver — dating and laughing and pulling pranks with the band — when her sister could be dying of cancer?

Book review

First thing first! Can I just say how much I adore this book!? The book WAS SOOO SWEET!! I really enjoyed all the characters but I had some problems with Stella tho ... BUT WITH that said - I ended up loving her a lot too ;D

The story starts in the hospital where Stella and Drew are visiting their sick twin sister, Cara. Yes you heard me XD they are triplets which is SO COOL!

Cara is a BIG fan of the band 'The Heartbreakers', so much that Stella who hated them really bad, will do anything for her sick sister - even go on a road trip with her brother Drew to get an autograph. On their trip Stella meets a cute brown haired guy only to find out he's actually the lead singer of the band 'The Heartbreakers' Oliver Perry.

One character in particular I really admired was Cara. Even through her illness, she was strong, independent and full of life and always positive which was a pleasure to watch/read.

Stella is clever and quite supportive of other people she cares about. She loves art and photography. She's getting hired to be a photographer for the band. What bugged me about her was her doubt in herself- she really should try to look at another perspective instead of putting herself down BUT as the story progresses she begins gaining confidence (I had to smile every time she believed in herself).

This book made me laugh thanks to JJ who is another group member of the band together with Alec & Xander. GOSH I wanna marry Alec! Loved him very very much! All the band members had an awesome bond between each other which was amazing to get to know along the way.
The romance was light and sweet. The book had a lovely development.

I loved the writing it really made me smile! It just made me read the book faster, great job Ali Novak!! It was an enjoyable read. If there's ever going to be a second one I will definitely read it!!
Yes I will recommend The Heartbreakers to anyone who is looking for a fun, quick summer read!

4/5 BIG Stars <3!

Update!!:
So I watch the movie Saturday (April 11th) and OMG I loved the movie so much more than the book! So if you like me didn't like the book definitely go watch the movie because it was nothing like the book ;D!

Book review:
2.5 stars -> 1 star for Jess & Casey, 1.5 star for Wesley ;)
Okay.... Bianca annoyed the hell out of me! - God I wanted to hit her all the freaking time! And what's worst she already knew she was fucked up!. Plus I really hatred how she treated her friends! I could go on and on how much I dislike her - but am getting mad just by thinking about her....
Wesley on the other hand - I liked A LOT! ;D and Bianca's best friends Jess and Casey - they were really sweet! :D

I never thought I would say this but - I REALLY hope the movie is going to be a lot better than the book itself! :D

Forevermore

Book Review: Forevermore

16238648 Title: Forevermore
Author: Cindy Miles
Genre: Fantasy, paranormal, mystery
Published: August 1st 2013
Page count: 240
Format: paperback

Summary (Goodreads):
Ivy’s moved to her new stepfather’s cold castle in the wilds of Scotland, where strange things begin to happen: the ancient walls spilling their dark secrets.
Rescue comes when she meets Logan, a gorgeous, elusive boy – a ghost, who has haunted the castle grounds for decades. Ivy is immediately drawn to him … but Logan is not the only spirit around, and soon Ivy finds herself at the heart of a dangerous mystery.

Ivy Calhoun moves with her mother to Glenmorrag the home of her stepfather Niall.
She doesn't really know Niall and his mother is a judgmental angry old lady + there's a ghostly voice keeps telling her to leave. As it turns out the voice belongs to Logan Munro who is just trying to save Ivy from a terrible fate.

Ivy acts both sensibly and like a teenager trying to find herself. She knows she can't just leave the castle given that she's sixteen and in a country she barely knows so she sets out to solve the mystery of Logan's death. One of the main ways she does this is by talking to her new group of friends. She slowly begins to feel she actually fir in - which she didn't do back at her hometown.

I also really loved how they spoke like they actually do in Scotland like saying "Aye" (which I can't help but say all the time now XD ) instead of yes. It really helped bring out there accents and how Ivy helps at understanding some of the words that was well done.

It was definitely a light fun paranormal romance and its super quick and easy to get through & can I just say how perfect Logan was? He WAS so lovely and I really enjoyed Ivy and Logan's relationship and the trust they had for each other and how they work together to fight the evil haunting Glenmorrag! I keep smiling at the development between Ivy and her stepdad it was great.

My only complaint is that I wished it was longer! The author could have made more happen for example the background story/history and it would have helped the ending too if it was 150-200 pages longer. Because Ivy get one solution handed to her and stumbles across another and everything is solved. That was a big downfall  for me - I expected a lot more action and history or anything! And that is mostly the reason I'm giving this 4 stars.

Happily ever after high school

Happily ever after high school:

Title: Happily ever after high school
Author: Savannah Ostler
Genre: YA, Fantasy, Fairy Tale re-telling
Published: January  18th 2015

Format: paperback

Summary (Goodreads):
Seventeen year old Albany French wants nothing more than to find her very own happily ever after. She dreams of finding her fairy godmother, going to the ball, and being swept away by a Prince. Much to her dismay, her life is no fairy tale. Albany is just a typical, all American girl who attends an overly crowded public high school.

An untimely tragedy leaves Albany desperate for a new life.
She seeks comfort in her eccentric grandmother, Greta. Not only does Greta welcome Albany into her home with open arms, but she transfers Albany to a new school.
But... this new school is not your average high school. This is... Happily Ever After High, the enchanting high school that hosts hundreds of magical, fairytale students.
Albany is about to begin the journey of a lifetime… as she discovers who she really is, where her family came from, falls in love for the first time, and embarks on a quest to fulfill a prophecy that has been passed on for ages.

Welcome to Happily Ever After High.

Albany is independent, determined, unique, creative and she is definitely a day dreamer.
She absolutely hates public school because she feels that she doesn't belong. Albany doesn't really have any friends at her old school as the students at her school kind of find her very odd ;) - she does have her flaws tho, she can be stubborn and a real mess.

She has a very witty sense of humor which she often use in sarcasm (which was entertaining!)
- mostly in situation of conflict. She just likes to stick to her gut and is not afraid to increase it. She really stood out with her sarcasm and humor. Honestly the things she did or said had me laughing a lot. You've got to love a character whose inner monologue can make you crack up ;) It was well written which made me wish I could have went a to a magical high school full of Fairy Tales, mythological creatures and even meet you're favorites Disney princess - in my old days when I was still a kid ^_^.

I do hope Ben will kick some ass and believe in himself in "Once Upon A University" - I'm so looking forward to read that! :D
I don't know but I need Ben to have more gut like Albany and take control sometime :) - BUT I still like Ben, he was still sweet ;).

That said it was still a enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this book to fairytale lovers :D
